Welcome to Wyandotte and
Bacon Memorial District Library
The Library has been an integral part of the community since 1886. Our home has been at this location since 1942, when the beautiful Bacon House was donated for use as a library. The historic home is open to the public and houses our magazine and local history collections, as well as meeting rooms and offices.
We offer a wide and ever-changing array of materials, programs and services, and through our affiliation with The Library Network and the statewide Mel Catalog, our resources are greatly expanded. If there are materials we don't own at our library, we can request them to be sent here for you from other sources at no charge. The information desk is staffed by knowledgeable librarians during all our open hours who may be contacted in person or via phone, email or chat to provide answers to any questions you may have.
Thanks to all our patrons for another successful summer reading program! We hope you enjoyed the carnival and the lock-in and we look forward to doing it all again next year. Fall programs are beginning this month and we have something for all ages. The new "I saw it on Pinterest: craft night" for teens and adults will be held the second Tuesday of each month. Our knit and crochet group meets every Saturday at 2pm and all skill levels are welcome to attend. Storytimes for babies, toddlers, and preschool age children begin September 16th. Drop-in Lego club meets the third Wednesday of each month and those elementary age and up are welcome to attend. Be sure to check out our online calendar to see all the programs we offer or pick up one of our newsletters the next time you're in the library. Program registration can be done via our online calendar or by calling 734-246-8357. We look forward to seeing you at one of our fall events.
