Welcome to Wyandotte and

Bacon Memorial District Library

The Library has been an integral part of the community since 1886. Our home has been at this location since 1942, when the beautiful Bacon House was donated for use as a library. The historic home is open to the public and houses our magazine and local history collections, as well as meeting rooms and offices.

We offer a wide and ever-changing array of materials, programs and services, and through our affiliation with The Library Network and the statewide Mel Catalog, our resources are greatly expanded. If there are materials we don't own at our library, we can request them to be sent here for you from other sources at no charge. The information desk is staffed by knowledgeable librarians during all our open hours who may be contacted in person or via phone, email or chat to provide answers to any questions you may have.

The Summer Reading programs at Bacon Library have always been a highlight of our year. This year's programs begin June 16th and wind up with the last celebratory events in mid-August. There are lots of fun ways to participate no matter what your age: we have programs for babies through adults. Please click on the links below for more information about the summer reading programs and check our online Event Calendar to discover what we have going on daily. Many programs require registration which can be done via the online Event Calendar or by calling Bacon Library at 734-246-8357.
