Welcome to Wyandotte and

Bacon Memorial District Library

The Library has been an integral part of the community since 1886. Our home has been at this location since 1942, when the beautiful Bacon House was donated for use as a library. The historic home is open to the public and houses our magazine and local history collections, as well as meeting rooms and offices.

We offer a wide and ever-changing array of materials, programs and services, and through our affiliation with The Library Network and the statewide Mel Catalog, our resources are greatly expanded. If there are materials we don't own at our library, we can request them to be sent here for you from other sources at no charge. The information desk is staffed by knowledgeable librarians during all our open hours who may be contacted in person or via phone, email or chat to provide answers to any questions you may have.

Michigan Electronic Library is the state's 24/7 portal to a wealth of valuable information. You can access it through the link to the right or go directly to mel.org. If accessing from home, you will be asked for either a library card number or driver's license number.

Included in Mel are:
• Full text articles from newspapers, popular magazines
and academic journals that are fully searchable.

• Chilton's Library represents the most authoritative automotive
repair information available to car owners.

• Learning Express Library offers interactive modules to prepare for a variety of tests such as the
GED and ACT, career preparation, and tutorials on computer use and popular software.

• Health and Wellness Resource Center provides instant access to carefully compiled and trusted    medical reference materials.

• Job and Career Accelerator and Small Business Resource Center offer information on finding    work or starting a business.

Whether you are interested in learning more about a topic or preparing for your future, Michigan Electronic Library is a source of free and trusted information.
